A young lady has narrated a funny but uncomfortable experience she had in a church during a deliverance program. She explained that she was forced to pretend she had fallen under the power of anointing because the pastor and his workers would not stop pushing her around.
According to her, it all happened on the fifth day of a five-day prayer program which her mother had taken her to attend. While the pastor was conducting deliverance, he singled her out and claimed that a demon was living inside her. Despite her attempts to resist and tell them she was fine, the pastor and other church assistants continued to push her roughly during prayers.
Feeling uncomfortable and desperate to end the situation, she decided to collapse intentionally as though the spirit had taken over her. The moment she fell to the ground, everyone in the church—including the pastor—believed she had gone under the anointing. From that point, the pastor left her alone, thinking his prayers had worked. She revealed the story later on TikTok, making many people laugh at her creative escape.
The video quickly went viral and attracted a wave of comments from people who had experienced similar things in their churches. One user shared that she also once pretended to fall during deliverance to avoid being pushed. Another said a pastor even asked her mother to push her because she refused to fall, claiming she had a “lion spirit.” In another testimony, a lady said she hit her head on a pillar while faking her fall and ended up with a headache for days, but the congregation thought she was deeply in the spirit.
Many of the reactions were a mix of humor and shock. Some social media users said these stories show how some pastors use too much force in the name of deliverance, while others joked about how they also used similar tricks to escape embarrassment in church. The discussion also raised questions about the pressure some church members face during such spiritual programs.
In a related development, another young woman previously revealed why she stopped attending her church. She said a pastor once preached that men who keep their rooms neat and tidy often remain unmarried, which she found both strange and unacceptable. That incident convinced her to look for a new place of worship.
Stories like these continue to spark debate about the practices in some churches, with many Nigerians questioning the line between genuine spirituality and performance. The lady’s confession has now become another example of how people sometimes cope with uncomfortable religious experiences.
