The Kaduna State Police Command has called on former Governor Nasir El-Rufai to appear for questioning over allegations including criminal conspiracy, public disturbance, mischief, and causing grievous hurt. The invitation also extends to key members of the Kaduna chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including North West Chairman Ja’afaru Sani and other party officials.
The summons, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police Zubairu Abdullahi, requests the former governor and other ADC leaders to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8, 2025, to respond to complaints lodged against them. The accused include Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Bashir Saidu, Ja’afaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (aka Mikiya 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (aka Mikiya).
ADC members have stated they have not officially received the summons and only learned about it through social media reports. The summons follows an incident where suspected thugs disrupted the inauguration of a transition committee for a coalition of opposition parties in Kaduna State, armed with cutlasses, clubs, and stones, damaging property and attacking attendees.
