30 Terrorists Killed in Borno as Nigerian Air Force and Ground Troops Launch Coordinated Attack

At least 30 terrorists were eliminated during a coordinated military operation combining air and ground forces in Dar-El-Jamal village, located in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation, which took place on September 5, was launched following intelligence reports indicating heavy hostile activity against government troops, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) confirmed through its spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Saturday, September 6.

Ejodame explained that the NAF rapidly deployed an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission, followed by an Air Interdiction (AI) strike, to neutralize the threat. “Upon reaching the vicinity, our aircrews coordinated with ground units stationed in Banki, who informed us that reinforcements were on their way to support frontline troops,” he said.

On approaching Dar-El-Jamal, air surveillance identified friendly forces in the area, while ISR scans detected terrorists retreating northwards into nearby bushes. A series of three precise airstrikes targeted the fleeing militants, leading to the confirmed neutralization of over 30 insurgents.

Reinforcement troops arrived shortly after the air operation, securing the village and stabilizing the situation, according to Ejodame. The Nigerian Air Force highlighted that the operation demonstrated the “effective coordination between air and ground units” and reinforced the military’s commitment to counterterrorism and community protection in the North East.

Ejodame added, “This successful engagement underscores the Nigerian Armed Forces’ determination to dismantle terrorist networks, safeguard vulnerable populations, and restore lasting peace across affected regions.”
