England captain Harry Kane has stated that his team is ready for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Serbia despite concerns about potential racial abuse.

The squad arrived in Belgrade ahead of the crucial clash at Rajko Mitic Stadium, where stadium capacity has been slightly reduced due to past fan misconduct. UEFA’s three-step protocol for discriminatory behaviour has been discussed among players to ensure they know how to respond.

Kane, who previously experienced racist incidents in Montenegro and Bulgaria, confirmed that players are aware of the procedures and are prepared to act if necessary. “Our focus is on the football and winning the game. We discussed UEFA protocols, and we are ready if needed,” he said.

Manager Thomas Tuchel also emphasized the importance of a respectful match. He expressed hope that fans would support their teams in a dignified manner, avoiding behaviour that could affect the outcome or lead to sanctions.

Serbian fans have been officially warned by the Football Association of Serbia to behave responsibly. Branko Radujko, FSS general secretary, said: “Every inappropriate action can harm our World Cup chances. We must cheer loudly but respectfully.”

England leads Serbia by five points in Group K, and both teams aim to secure a positive result while maintaining fair play standards. The focus remains on competitive football, with awareness of UEFA’s monitoring protocols.
